If you haven’t been able to tell yet, a two-week trip to California means there will be loads of content from there coming your way. Last week, I spoke about double denim in Palo Alto and this week I’m taking you all the way to the City of Angels.
The funny thing with this trip was that, as the conscientious person that I am, I planned my outfits in advance and packed accordingly but somehow ended up having to wear something slightly different every time. In this case, I hadn’t planned to wear a check shirt with this outfit but got too cold during the day so I had to improvise and borrow this from a friend. I ended up liking it so much that I wore it all throughout the evening too and I’m seriously considering buying one for myself if I can still find it online.
The trousers also used to be much longer but because of an extremely dirty floor on a night out I had to chop them off and add slits on the side. I also embellished them with some gold buttons for a more put together feel. I genuinely didn’t think this look would work at all and it’s not a mix that I would have ever really thought about putting together but in the end I loved it. This only comes to show that it’s always good to try and pair even things you never thought would work, you might still be surprised.
You can still see some remnants of my mud incident with the trousers but hey, no one is perfect and I love this trousers way too much to throw them away. If anyone has any idea where I could find another similar pair though, let me know!
