A French Night Out
For anyone who knows me, it will
come as no surprise that I like to mainly sport casual looks. I would pick
flats over heels most days, although I think heels look better 90% of the time,
I’m the biggest fan of comfortable pieces and I like to stick to my basics.
However, on the other hand, I love dressing up every once in a while and
looking like I actively put effort into my outfits. Therefore...
My ultimate scenario when it
comes to picking an outfit is a late-evening dinner in a small town by the
beach. Planning outfits for the holidays is my one of my favourite things to
do, not just because it implies that I will be going on holiday soon after, but
because I can sport comfortable yet dressed up outfits.
Let’s take the case in point as a
scenario: I was in Toulouse, a small town filled with cobbled streets and
traversed by a large river, for a weekend getaway. There was no beach but it
was 30 degrees Celsius, I was on holiday and getting ready to go for a
significantly large meal at one of the many bistros dotted around town. Whereas
in London I probably would have worn a pair of jeans, a shirt, some heels and
maybe a statement jacket, I felt that all I needed here was a flowy shirt, a
bit of colour and flat sandals.
I call these kind of looks my
Mediterranean looks because they always send me back to summer holidays in
Europe. I love their beauty and simplicity, just flowing materials, dainty
footwear, a glowy face; No need for heels, makeup or styled up pieces to make
my outfit stand out.
Whatever your preferred style, I hope you gain some inspiration
from this post if you’re planning a holiday any time soon. Even if you didn’t
gain any inspiration, drop down in the comments section and let me know why!
