2013

Wow. I can't believe another year has gone by. It seems like yesterday I was starting high-school and now there's only 6 months left before I graduate.

I just wanted to tell everyone how excited I am for finally deciding to keep up my blogging and to use blogging as a means of relating with people that have the same interests and passions as I do. I hope 2013 will bring me just as many rewarding moments as 2012, and even more. I always come to the realization that no matter how many troubles one has to face and how unhappy one might be, there are always things to look forward to, goals to set for the future. Time flies by and we might end up one day seeing how our life has passed by us. Every year we have the chance to refresh ourselves, to clean the mess we did during the previous year and try to make everything better, try to evolve. We might not get to do all the things we want to, but having ambition, wishes and aspirations is the best way to get through life.

I wish everyone a very merry 2013, and I hope we can stick together in the next year as well. Remember, New Year's Eve is a time to spend with friends, family and people you want to see, people you love and cherish.
And remember:
"Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one."

Pastels

When I was browsing the web a few days ago I was greeted by a plethora of pastel bags that just seemed lost in this winter weather. I must admit I crave spring and I would bring spring back in the blink of an eye if I could, but I'm also intrigued by this combination of snow, Christmas and floral, pastel colours.
Maybe I'll even try pastels this winter. Would you?

Black Leather

DSC_03291
Good morning everyone! As I'm not much of a poser or a model I decided to adopt some cliche yet effective methods of detracting your attention from any flaws the photos might have. Up here I am jumping up and down, I believe my dad must have taken about 30 photos of me while jumping, each one of them more hilarious than the other.
Anyway, I was on my way home and I noticed the great light that was shining through the trees in the park and I decided we had to shoot right away; There's something about warm autumn light that feels very romantic to me. However, when we got there the sun was nowhere to be found and we barely got some rays of sunshine towards the end. But enough blabbering. Here's the photos! xoxo

Inspiration #5

This inspiration post is all about interior design. Having a full block book case in my room, redecorating doesn't come easily, so I've been dreaming about the day when I'll be able to completely redecorate my bedroom, throwing away all the childish furniture and the boring decorations. Meanwhile, my Interior Design Inspiration folder has become more that packed with pictures like this one, all of them future ideas for my house.

This photo encompasses every idea of mine regarding relaxation. Mismatched pillows, books and a beautiful view are all I would need to spend an ethereal afternoon at home. I would probably never ever go to school again. Or eat. Or wash.

Let The Sun Shine

DSC_0240 (2)1
With the 1st of December being Romania's National Day I had a three-day weekend which I decided to spend with my parents at the mountains. So on Friday I hopped in the car and drove my parents all the way to Sinaia which is a beautiful mountain resort. These photos were taken at the Palace Hotel and Casino, a beautifully decorated elegant building. In the 1900's, during the monarchy, all the high-class of Romania used to go to the casino and the Palace still keeps the glory it once had.
The weather also helped, the sun was shining and the mountain air was perfectly piercing.

Bling Bling

DSC_02401
This post is all about bling! Every girl loves great jewellery and this year statement pieces have become a must-have. From Miroslava Duma's green statement necklace to the Hermes collier de chien bracelet and Leandra Medine's arm party we can't get enough of big, colourful and shiny pieces! DSC_02431
I bought this necklace from Zara this summer and I still love wearing it every time!

Phones love bling too

And then, after adorning our necks with big, heavy pieces of metal our arms need warming too, so we usually wear lots of bracelets...
Enjoy and rejoice in bling!

Inspiration #4

london-christmas_1118463iWith a few of my friends abroad for University in and around London and my own prospects of leaving for the UK next year I can only feel more and more drawn towards this city. I don't know why, but every time I've been there it has offered me the most beautiful surprises and experiences and I can't imagine what it would be like living there with all the gorgeous British accent surrounding me.

Tumblr &Co.

A few years ago I kept hearing about Tumblr and how its incredible photos could hook everyone to it. I, obviously, thought it was... well, bullshit. Not to mention I tried to see what it was all about and without an account I couldn't see squat. Why would anyone want to post random pictures on a random site where no one would probably see them. Wouldn't they be better off in a folder on our computers?

About a year ago when I was greeted by a friend with "You HAVE to get Twitter! It's the next new thing!". When she told me what Twitter was basically about I assumed the world was reaching its end. When I researched and looked it up on-line I was convinced the Mayans must have been right. WHY (again) would people want to use Twitter? I didn't get it at all, and I couldn't see how some people might have found it useful.

forcedly  reluctantly signed up for Tumblr and Twitter and tried to experiment with both of them. And I still couldn't really get them. I think I kept both accounts for about half a year without posting anything because I just didn't really care about them.

However, almost a year after the failed attempts I have begun to like using these two platforms although I ask myself every day why. There's two sides to every coin: when using Twitter you find yourself sharing more than you should, like when I tweeted a few days ago that I was home alone. What if there was a random stalker that saw that and came to my house to murder me? I could've acted all Bruce Lee but no acting skill could turn me into a killing machine. But, to me at least, Twitter is also the place where I can share silly stuff without worrying that someone might judge me. If I feel like writing perverted comments or just tweeting the first word that comes to my mind "booger" let's say, no one would judge me, as I don't have a lot of friends on Twitter.

Tumblr right now is flawless for me, I can find a lot of interesting photos and there are many great quality Tumblr sites at the moment.
However, I still can't grasp the notion of how much people have started depending on their internet connection and their online dealings. Whether it is through blogging, tweeting or sharing photos on Facebook, each of our lives is in one way or another exposed online.

On a happier note, platforms like Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest etc. do offer us the great advantage of easier communication (worse communication skills however) as long as they do not grow to control our lives and behaviour.

How many of you use any of these platforms and what do you think about them?

Inspiration #3

I've been all about sharp silhouettes, prints and urban chic lately and this picture encompasses it all. The printed pencil skirt, leather jacket and red-black combo are absolutely everything I could wish for right now and if the weather still allowed me to I would absolutely try to recreate this look.

Morning Face

DSC_01521
These photos were taken at 7 o'clock in the morning, last Saturday. It was such a full day but a very promising one as well. I had to wake up early to go prepare a location for an event I organised. It was hard work, preparing everything for the past months but it all turned out great. Of course, there are always things to be improved but I think we started off on the right foot.
The centre of the outfit was supposed to be what was UNDERNEATH my jacket, but it was so cold that morning that I couldn't bear take it off. (And honestly, I thought I would have time to shoot some other photos later that day but unfortunately I didn't have a second to spare). So here you are left with three photos shot outside my block of flats, with my 7 am face and a slight attempt to an edited photo.

Hope you like them! xx

Looking out for Jeans

Let me introduce you The Burgundy, The Printed and The High-Waisted. These are the three jeans that I think someone should have in their wardrobe.

I honestly wrote a mile long post here, but I don't know what happened, Blogger decided to delete it half sentence. So just pretend you read a witty text accompanying each of these fancy jeans.
I did write one, honestly.

It's All in The Eyes

DSC_0128
Starting the weekend with a little make-up inspo!
Last year, a friend of mine told me that "most people have the most boring make-up, they never het out of their comfort zone". And she was so true! I'm the person that likes to watch people all day, imagine funny stories behind every face and even think about what some are thinking at a certain moment in time. However, I've never noticed how most people have the same, basic make-up. And that's because I'm the same too, I don't really change my make-up a lot, beside the sometimes liquid liner and colourful eye shadows. So I decided to sometimes experiment with my face routine and not only my clothes. A few days ago I chose a very basic outfit for school and just added these blue lashes that I think work really well. I got a lot of compliments and they lasted all day without any issue. DSC_0127 DSC_0124 DSC_0129 DSC_0136 DSC_0131I was wearing:

From Paris With Love

I wasn't planning on posting anything until tomorrow, but as I'm stuck in bed with a nauseating cold I came across this beautiful photo that took me straight to Paris..
The atmosphere is perfect and the looks on Nicole and Luke's faces are priceless, they look so in love and happy, just like any couple would dream of being in the beautiful French capital.
The photo is taken from Nicole Warne's fashion blog, Gary Pepper Vintage . Take a look, it's great!

Yoga

Good Morning!

I've been wanting to get back into the gym for a very long time. However, this video has motivated me and has made me realize you don't really have to go to the gym in order to have a healthy lifestyle. Started on my yoga and fitness schedule today and I'm really excited about it.

Have you guys ever tried Yoga, Pilates of even Kick-Boxing?

P.S. I don't know why the video is so small, but I'll try to solve the problem ASAP!

Plaid, Stripes & Denim

Captre
This is the outfit I wore a few days ago, appropriate for school but also chic enough not to feel underdressed. I hate that each year after I start school my inspiration just disappears and I find myself wearing T-shirts and jeans all day long. Every day I try to add a bit of sizzle to everything I wear and this was the case here, too.

The Over-Sized Coat

Browsing through my usual fashion newsletters an e-mail caught my attention. Moda Operandi's main topic was the over sized coat. Needless to say I knew exactly what my next post would be. I have been searching for the perfect over sized coat for this fall but haven't found it yet within an acceptable price range. However here are some of the coats that caught my eyes this season :
1. the Balenciaga classic which is, obviously, sold out everywhere. 2. Paul & Joe Sister 380 3. For the ones that would like to follow the crowd but still be different an over sized trench from Roksanda Ilincic , €2,030  and finally, 4. Diane von Furstenberg €721 for the wacky side of every girl, a bright pop of yellow. (Does it look resemble popcorn or is it just me?)
And for those of you who want something really different so that you could pretend not to listen to the trends but secretely dream about that over-sized coat here are 1. Kenzo Felted Tweed Jacket and 2. Alberta Ferretti €1,096

Finally, just for my vanity, here is my personal favourite Chalayan over-sized coat. Unfortunately 1,625 for a coat is way out of my budget so I'll keep dreaming about it.

A few days ago I decided to experiment a little with my camera and make some portraits using different lighting and editing. This is the first result and there are more to come. Can't wait to hear what you guys think about it!

Cheers!
